Minted
Minted is an online design marketplace that crowdsources one-of-a-kind art, stationery, and home décor from independent artists around the world. The company offers a highly personalized, design-driven shopping experience that extends beyond what is typically available through traditional retail. I had the opportunity to design Minted’s identity, stationery, and packaging labels at the time of the company’s launch.
The visual identity is minimal and restrained, yet refined, reflecting the brand’s emphasis on craftsmanship and thoughtful design. On the business card, the logo is blind-debossed into the paper, creating a subtle tactile impression that reinforces the meaning of the word “minted” — something distinctly formed or impressed.
The packaging experience was designed with the same attention to craft and detail. Each order is carefully wrapped with a green grosgrain ribbon and finished with a personalized letterpress label. Handwritten names of both the sender and recipient add a personal touch, while a punched-out date introduces another layer of precision and sophistication.
Each package also includes a small complimentary gift of mints, extending the brand experience beyond the visual and tactile into scent and taste. The result is a highly considered unboxing experience in which every detail reinforces the Minted identity.
