Papa Lennon’s Pizzeria

Papa Lennon’s is a family-owned pizzeria tucked away in Ojai, a small California town surrounded by rolling hills and mountains. Founded by Ojai native Jeff Lennon, the restaurant captures the relaxed, intimate spirit of the town through its warm hospitality, inviting courtyard, and from-scratch Italian cooking. Its ivy-covered patio and fountain give the restaurant the charm of a neighborhood hideaway, while homemade dough, sauces, and desserts reinforce its emphasis on craft and authenticity.

The identity was designed to capture that same sense of warmth and individuality through a one-of-a-kind, hand-drawn visual language. A series of illustrations was explored before arriving at the final mark: a black kitten perched on a sapphire-green chair, with its tail playfully curling around the chair leg. The unexpected imagery gives the brand a distinctive personality—artisanal, approachable, and slightly whimsical—while complementing the restaurant’s homemade character and laid-back Ojai setting.
